Walnut stars and various other seeds

We grind the walnut and flax seeds in the robot.

Mix them with sunflower seeds, then add butter (at room temperature, yogurt, yeast and warm water. Do not forget to add salt to taste)

Mix the ingredients, add as much flour as possible, until you get a very elastic, non-sticky dough.

Spread the dough on the floured work table, cut out the stars and then place them in a tray lined with baking paper, grease them with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse salt and sesame seeds.

Bake the pan in the preheated oven at moderate temperature and wait for the stars to brown.

Pay attention to what age you offer it! Walnuts and seeds (even if they are crushed) but also the crunchy consistency of the flakes, recommend the preparation for the age of over 3 years, due to the risk of drowning.

  • 150 gr oat flakes (you can also use rye flakes, spelled, barley) *
  • 50 gr coconut cream (solid)
  • 30 ml water
  • 25 gr nuts **
  • 25 gr flower seeds **
  • 25 gr pumpkin seeds **
  • Dried fruit & # 8211 a tablespoon of blueberries I used
  • optional: one lg of date paste (hydrated or blended dates)

* If you want a gluten-free granola, use gluten-free oatmeal (look for the packaging that specifies this aspect)

• 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Put the walnut and sunflower kernels hydrated overnight in a bowl of water to cover them. This will soften the cores and make them easier to process.

The next day, rinse the nuts with clean water and put them in the blender. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, salt and mustard powder, obtained by grinding the mustard seeds through the electric coffee grinder. You can give up mustard powder if you do not have it, using sweet mustard instead to prepare the salad, if you like and if necessary.

For starters, add about half a glass of water (the water in which the nuts stood, which has turned a reddish color). Press the button and mix at low speed. Gradually add more water as the blender grinds to a core and clogs the blender.

Depending on the consistency you want for mayonnaise, add more or less water. For example, if you plan to use this mayonnaise for a root salad, you can make it softer, that is, more liquid.

Even if it doesn't seem to have a special taste, after you add it to the salad, it will give a special consistency and flavor to the vegetable mixture. You can also add a little oil.

Method of preparation:

In addition, walnut is the fruit richest in copper and zinc, which is why it is used in the treatment of vascular diseases, growth and maturation disorders, immune deficiencies.

Stroke - Regular consumption of heat-processed nuts strengthens blood vessels and prevents, especially in the elderly, their deterioration. Here is a very effective recipe:

  • 3 crushed walnut kernels,
  • 1 teaspoon of bee pollen
  • 2 tablespoons honey

mix very well, shaping into candy. Take all this mixture daily, on an empty stomach, in the morning.

Constipation - Consume the core of four lightly fried walnuts 10 minutes after consuming 1-2 glasses of plum compote or 2 tablespoons of liquid honey with water. The treatment is done on an empty stomach.

Diabetes - Like hazelnuts, walnuts are very low in sugar, which makes them a staple in diabetes, where raw foods and meat are especially recommended. In addition to hazelnuts, walnuts even have a slightly hypoglycemic action, helping to alleviate this condition.

Body weight below normal - due to the high content of fats that are easy to assimilate and that do not increase cholesterol, nuts consumed in large quantities are a basic part in fattening belts. This food is recommended for people who want to gain healthy weight without risking a sudden rise in cholesterol, an overload of the cardiovascular system or the appearance of problems such as cellulite or stretch marks.

hyperthyroidism - Walnuts have a regulatory effect on thyroid activity and, in addition, bring a considerable supplement of calories, which are known to be consumed in large quantities in this condition, hence the state of pronounced devitalization that occurs frequently.

Sterility, impotence - The intake of vitamin E, the presence of rejuvenating substances that protect and clean the blood vessels make nuts a very suitable food in the treatment of these two diseases. It is worth noting the beneficial effect of walnuts in preventing vascular impotence (which represents over 50% of cases of impotence).

Rheumatism, gout - Walnut shells have a strong depurative effect, favoring the mobilization and elimination of toxins from the body. A cure is made with hydroalcoholic extract (tincture) of walnut shells, from which two teaspoons diluted in half a glass of water are taken, 3 times a day. The treatment lasts 40 days and is preferably done in late autumn and early spring.

Hydroalcoholic extract Walnut shell is the most active preparation obtained from walnut, being very rich in iodine, flavonoids and tannins. It is obtained as follows: put in a threaded jar 20 tablespoons of green walnut shell powder, over which add two cups (500 ml) of 50-degree food alcohol. Close the airtight jar and leave to soak for two weeks, in a warm place, then filter, and the resulting tincture is placed in small, dark bottles. It is administered from this remedy, four times a day, one teaspoon diluted in a little water.

Leaf powder walnut is obtained by grinding as fine as possible with an electric coffee grinder. The storage of walnut leaf powder is done in hermetically sealed glass jars, in dark and cold places, for a maximum period of 2 weeks (because its volatile substances evaporate very quickly). Usually, it is administered 3-4 times a day, one level teaspoon of walnut leaf powder, on an empty stomach.

Walnut oil It is obtained only industrially, by cold pressing. It has a strong cholesterol-lowering effect, being also a vascular tonic and dewormer. Take 3-4 teaspoons a day, preferably on an empty stomach.


Peeled hemp seeds

Hemp seeds fall into the group of oilseeds, along with walnut seeds, or other types of seeds. Small but incredibly powerful nutritious, they have been cultivated and used by humans since ancient times. Even on the territory of the ancient Dacia, hemp appeared, from whose fibers the Dacians made their shoes, and Herodotus mentions the hemp seeds used as an energizer and even a drug of the Scythians, for when they started in battles. Hulled seeds can be eaten raw & # 8211 added to salads, sandwiches, groats or muesli. They can also be added to baked products or mixed with fruit, juice or milk.

Having a taste similar to pine and sunflower seeds, hemp seeds can be used in any recipe. In terms of nutritional content, hemp seed contains in principle 30% protein, 42% fat and 15% carbohydrates. For diabetics, the glycemic index of husked hemp seeds is considered low due to its low carbohydrate content. The seeds are also full of nutrients that moderate blood sugar levels.

The benefits of hemp seeds derive from their rich content in vitamins, minerals, polyunsaturated fats and amino acids necessary for protein synthesis. We will discuss these benefits in turn to show why it is advisable to include hemp seeds and hemp seed preparations in your regular diet.


Seeds and foods with high energy potential

During the winter, the biggest problem of nutrition is finding foods with a high energy potential. From the point of view of the value of proteins, food must have the property of increasing the vitality of the body, especially in the periods when it requires it.

The most suitable are vegetables and butter. Such foods with a high energy potential and quite pure do not wear out the digestive tract and are easier to assimilate helping a proper metabolism.

Table oils, for example, were used in the past as staple foods. Being obtained non-industrially, these oils nourished the body, protecting it from harmful overloads. Olive, sunflower, walnut or rapeseed oils were obtained by cold pressing. They were untreated with various chemical agents or subjected to various refining processes. These oils were not harmful to the body with a high energy intake. And some plants are recommended to be consumed for their energy intake.

* Soy contains 40% protein, 22% fat. It is consumed in the form of grains, flour or in the form of textured soy, imitating meat to taste.

* Walnuts have 15% protein and 60% fat. They far exceed the meat in consistency. It is a staple in any diet. When mixed with eggs, walnuts are extremely nutritious.

* Hazelnuts contain 14% protein and 60% fat. They have walnut-like energy potential.

* Peanuts or hazelnuts contain 30% protein and 50% fat. They have qualities very close to those of meat.

* Butter contains 80% fat. It is one of the foods that far exceeds the products based on meat and lard, in terms of energy potential. Clarified turns into ghee, a food that is considered in the Ayurvedic tradition to be one that contains principles of rejuvenation.

* Sunflower seeds have 20% fat. In ancient times this plant was considered by the Indians a sacred plant.

* Susan contains 65% fat, 24% protein. It is vitalizing, aphrodisiac, antiasthenic, vitaminizing.


French Bread with nuts and cinnamon

Here is a more complex recipe, for breakfast, with French flavor, but just as easy to prepare, if you follow it "a la carte".

Ingredients (for 6 servings):

- a wholemeal bread with sliced ​​seeds
- a cup of walnut kernels, fried and cooled
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 6 eggs
- a cup of low-fat yogurt
- a cup of skim milk
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon white sugar

Method of preparation:

- prepare an oven tray or a heat-resistant glass dish, lining the inside with butter or baking paper
- walnuts should be finely chopped, but not ground

- mix until the sugar melts!
- the bread is given through the mixture of eggs and then through the one of nuts and brown sugar and it is placed in the tray greased with butter
- if you have any nuts left and brown sugar, sprinkle on top in the oven tray
- add the rest of the egg cream to the pan
- cover the tray with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight (at least 6 hours)
- in the morning, preheat the oven to the 5th stage and bake the bread for 30 minutes, until it becomes golden and crispy on top.


- let it cool for at least 10 minutes and then cut it into slices
- Serve warm with a little maple syrup

Other tips:

- to fry the walnuts (the bread is tastier if you fry them before!) put them in a non-stick pan and leave them on a medium heat towards the sea, turning them, until they become slightly brown and have a nice luster
- you can replace the usual yogurt in the recipe with a vanilla yogurt
- if you want a creamier breakfast, replace the milk in the recipe with yogurt, but fatter
- wholemeal bread with seeds can be replaced with white bread, but which can be easily cut into cubes (do not use the crust!)
