The Landings St. Lucia Opens Turquoise Beach Bar

The Landings St. Lucia Opens Turquoise Beach Bar

Beachside Bar Offers Specialty Cocktails, Weekly Barbeque Specials

Turquoise Beach Bar is its own private oasis.

Nothing pairs with a beachfront view better than a great drink, and guests of The Landings St. Lucia will be able to enjoy the best of both worlds at the recently opened Turquoise Beach Bar.

Just a few steps away from the resort’s private beach, the bar is its own private oasis. One highlight here is the specialty, handcrafted mixed drinks. Bar-goers can look forward to creations like the Passiontini — a sugary and tropical blend of rum, ginger, lime juice, passion fruit, juic,e and sugar — or the slightly stronger Planters Punch — a concoction of dark and white rum, orange, grenadine, pineapple, and lime juice. Many are made with locally sourced ingredients.

One true highlight here is the bar’s signature Sweet Euphoria. Each bartender makes his or her own version of this beverage, a mixture of vodka, mixes, and garnishes. The staff doesn’t share their recipes with one another, so guests are guaranteed to try a unique drink each and every time they order one.

On Fridays, guests can even enjoy barbeque specials from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m along with live tunes courtesy of guitarist Ronald “Boo” Hinkson who performs from 6 to 8 p.m.

Windjammer Landing Saint Lucia Reviews: Resort Details Revealed

The Windjammer Landing Saint Lucia sits on a hilltop overlooking the turquoise-toned waters of the Caribbean Sea. Part of the Windward Islands, Saint Lucia offers a coastal exterior framed by the mountains, rainforests and waterfalls of the interior. It’s about a 10-minute drive to George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU).

The Windjammer Landing is located on the western side of the island on 60 acres of landscaped gardens and clustered suites and villas. For a relaxing vacation with family-friendly amenities, island ambiance and on-site dining, you’ve come to the right place.

There is a bit of a walk to the beach from the hilltop and hillside rooms, so this may be a turn-off if you’re not a fan of walking far or have mobility issues. The resort does have a new section of suites, the Hibiscus Suites, that are located at the bottom of the hill and closer to the beach. There is shuttle service from the top of the hill down to the beach, where you can find shops, restaurants, the kids and teens clubs and the main pool.

REPORT ON LGBTs IN JAMAICA

A new report from the American-based Human Rights First organization is taking aim at the mistreatment of LGBT persons in Jamaica and offering recommendations actions the U.S. government can take to better support Jamaican civil society.

"Human rights challenges," including the issues of discrimination and violence for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender in Jamaica were the focus of "The World as it Should Be': Advancing the Human Rights of LGBT People in Jamaica" report.

Having the LGBT situation and other human rights concerns addressed by a gathering of high-level U.S. State Department officials and Caribbean heads of state was among the report's recommendations.

"The current momentum is a prime opportunity for the United States to lead an international effort to support Jamaican civil society in combating violence and discrimination and working towards full realization of the human rights of LGBT people."
